Matthew Carlberg has been teaching computer science and math at Bard High School Early College (BHSEC) Queens for twelve years. He oversees the computer science curriculum at BHSEC Queens. Matt is interested in designing computer science courses that use problem solving and creative coding as a means of engaging students and broadening participation in computing. Before his teaching career, Matt was a member of the Video and Image Processing Laboratory at the University of California, Berkeley, where he did research on generating 3D models of indoor and outdoor environments by fusing camera and laser data. Matt received his MA in teaching mathematics from Bard College in 2010 and his MS in electrical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2009. He is currently a Math for America Master Teacher.

When he's not working, his one and five-year-old take up just a little bit of his time.
